CAMBRIDGE YLE - YOUNG LEARNERS ENGLISH

Objective - Children who learn English when they are young will have an advantage that will stay with them all their life. Cambridge ESOL recognizes this and has developed a special systemof tests designed to get children of primary school age and upwards on the path to learning English.

The objective of the YLE courses is to prepare the young children for the University of Cambridge ESOL programmes by ensuring that they have a sound understanding of the basics of the language.

The sooner they start learning, the better — with the right methods, children can learn English quickly, effectively and enjoyably. Once they have this initial grasp of English in primary school, they will have a strong foundation which will be an advantage in their later studies.

 

YLE is a reliable and consistent measure of how well your child is doing in the skills of listening, speaking and reading and writing. Tests are designed to make learning fun and children are encouraged by working towards certificates and earning the 'shields' that record their progress.

COURSE MATERIALS  
The course materials used in our classes are based on Cambridge guidelines to ensure that the children learn well and enjoy the classes at the same time.
LEVELS   YLE is at Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
TESTS  
There are 3 levels in the YLE category :
(1) Starters
(2) Movers
(3) Flyers.
 
Each level has a test set by Cambridge University, all of which are suitable for children who may not be used to taking examinations. There are no pass or fail. Every student receives a reward for their efforts in learning English. The tests are set by Cambridge University and cover reading and writing, listening and speaking.

CERTIFICATES   • All Certificates will be issued by the University of Cambridge ESOL,UK
• Certificates are released approximately 1.5 months after the test date.
• Candidates will be informed in writing for the collection of certificates.
