1. What is the Singapore iPSLE?
The Singapore iPSLE is an international version of the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) taken by pupils in Singapore at the end of 6 years of education in a primary school. The iPSLE will be conducted in August each year and the results will be released in October/November of the same year.
The iPSLE is intended for pupils in overseas schools that adopt a curriculum similar to the Singapore school curriculum. It serves to certify their academic attainment at the end of primary school education.
2. How will pupils' performance be reported?
Pupils' performance will be reported in the form of grades, from A* (highest grade), A, B, C, D, E (lowest grade). Pupils who offer 4 subjects (i.e. EL, MA, SC and aMother Tongue Subject) will also be awarded an aggregate score based on their performance in the 4 subjects.
3. What are the subjects available?
Six subjects are available. They are English Language (EL), Mathematics (MA), Science (SC), Chinese Language (CL), Malay Language (ML) and Tamil Language (TL). Pupils may sit for a maximum of 4 subjects. However, pupils who intend to seek admission to secondary schools in Singapore are strongly encouraged to take four subjects, namely, English Language, Mathematics, Science and one of the Mother Tongue Languages, i.e. CL, ML or TL.
4. Examination Format
The format of iPSLE will be similar to PSLE in both the duration of papers and the item types.
5. Results Reporting
Results will be reported in the form of subject grades - Grades A*, A, B, C, D, E.

Students may use the iPSLE results to apply for admission to Singapore schools.
School principals could admit pupils based on the iPSLE results, in lieu of the school entrance tests at Secondary One, subject to availability of vacancies after the Secondary One posting exercise conducted by Ministry of Education (MOE)
7. How do I register for the iPSLE?
Pupils may register for 2009 iPSLE with designated overseas examination centres appointed by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board.
Pupils are not permitted to register for the iPSLE and the Singapore PSLE (conducted in October) in the same year.
Those found to have done so will have their iPSLE registration cancelled and no refunds will be made.
If a candidate had sat for both the PSLE and iPSLE in the same year, the results of the iPSLE will be nullified and no appeals will be entertained.
8. Age Requirement
There is no age requirement. However, pupils intending to seek admission to Secondary One in Singapore secondary schools must be at least 12 years old on 1st January of the year of admission and completed the equivalent of primary six education.
